Policies
Payment:
In order to reserve your lesson slot, you need to pay a registration deposit upfront, of 4 weeks worth of lessons. This deposit will stay in our account until the end of the semester you have signed up for and will then either be refunded to you or kept on file if you continue with lessons. This deposit may be forfeited if payment is not received or as outlined in the lesson cancellation policy.

* Please note, if payment of the registration deposit or the monthly payment is not received before your first lesson. Your lesson will be forfeited and you will not be able to attend it.
1) Monthly: An invoice will be sent out the week prior to the payment due date. Payment is due at the beginning of every month, before the first lesson of the month. This option requires the registration deposit.
2) Semester Based: One payment upfront for all lessons in the semester. At the end of the semester you will get a refund for any missed lessons (in accordance with the missed lesson policy). Any additional lessons will be invoiced accordingly. If you sign up for school year 2023/2024 there will be two payment due, one in September and one in January. This option does not require a registration deposit.
Start and End Dates:
School Semester: September 7 2024 - June 21, 2025 Break for Christmas and Spring Break.
Fall Semester: September 7 2024- December 22, 2024
Winter Semester: Jan 6-June 21, 2025
Summer Semester: July 2 start date - Sept 1 2025.
All of these dates are dependent on where your lesson falls in the week or unless otherwise arranged with your teachers.
Music/Theory Books:
Music and theory book costs are in addition to lessons fees.
The Student is expected to bring the required materials to each class.
Holiday’s:
If your lesson is going to fall on a Holiday, it is up to the students and the teachers to decide what they want to do. It is your responsibility to communicate with your teacher by the first of each month if you would like that day off. If the teacher has not heard from you or you have no heard from your teacher, it is assumed the lesson is happening as per usual. You will be billed for the lesson and the teacher will be compensated for their time.
Missed lessons:
Make up lessons or refunds will be given if the teacher is notified at least 24 hours in advance. This can occur up to 3 times per semester, (September-December and January -June semesters). Summer months we only require 24 hours notice unlimited times.
If sufficient notification is not received, the lesson will be forfeited including the travel fee and the teacher will be compensated for their time. If 3 cancellations occur within one semester, any further cancellations for that semester will not be refunded or credited.
If the teacher is unable to make a lesson, a make up lesson will be arranged.
If 15 min has passed and you have not attended your lesson, the lesson is forfeited.
Lessons cannot be transferred between students. ie) If student cannot attend a lessons, you must let your teacher know with 24 hours notice in order to not be charged. You cannot transfer one child’s time to another child who is not registered or is only registered for 30 min.
If a lesson needs to be refunded, it will be refunded on the following months invoice.
Pausing Lessons:
We do not allow lessons to be paused for extended amounts of time for events other than Illness or Vacation. We require 30 days written notice for both of those as well.
COVID-19:
If you have cold symptoms please stay home from your lesson. Let your teacher know so we can move the lesson to be online.
We sanitize pianos and desks after every lesson to keep it clean.
